Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager (Meat / Poultry)
Location: G.T.A.
Salary: Commensurate with experience, qualifications

Our Client a Canadian food processor is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager

Responsibilities:

Supervisory:

- oversees a staff of 5-6 personnel in microbiology, chemistry and plant.
- plans, organizes and controls shift operations in accordance with established procedures.
- trains and motivates employees to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, cooperation, moral and initiates discipline when required
- employee orientations, performance reviews and termination of employees.
- complies with company guidelines and procedures covering attendance management
- follows procedures and production schedules and completes all reports accurately

Day to Day:

- responsible for maintaining day to day pre-requisite HACCP Programs.
- assists in keeping the facility ready for government and customer audits.
- monitors preoperational inspection reports
- reviews and analyzes microbiological, environmental and chemical results and follows up to ensure problems are rectified
- conducts plant audits and follows up with Plant Manager to resolve issues
- ensures compliance with Sanitation & Hygiene Policy and legislated requirements
- assists R&D and Operations in establishing product specifications and production procedures
- prepares plant and paperwork and conducts third party and customer audits
- ensures supplies are requisitioned to meet daily requirements
- manages microbiology and chemistry testing for all plants


To be considered for this opportunity you must have:

BSc. in Food Science or Microbiology or a College Diploma in Food Technology
3 to 5 years supervisory experience in Quality Assurance in a fast paced, high volume
food manufacturing environment
technical knowledge of aseptic laboratory techniques and equipment
computer literacy ( intermediate level spread sheets )
excellent oral and written communication skills
proven leadership ability
flexibility, initiative and knowledge of safe food handling ( GMP’s, Food Plant Sanitation and HACCP )
