Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: G.T.A. (West)
Salary: Commensurate with experience, qualifications

Our Client a Canadian food processor is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for its manufacturing plant located in the G.T.A.

As a member of a mid management production team reporting to the Production Manager you will:

Supervise a multi-cultural unionized work force on a rotational shift basis.
Promote and lead the plant health and safety initiatives to achieve world class Safety, Health and Environmental status.
Ensure all hourly employees are fully trained and follow all GMP rules and Consumer Safety standards using HACCP as the main control tool.
Meet product yield and labour efficiency standards
Provide direction so that the production teams can achieve production objectives on time.
Motivate his/her team, provide clear expectations, hold people accountable and ensure the correct administration of the Collective Agreement.
Acquire a sophisticated knowledge of the manufacturing processes and equipment.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-5 years of manufacturing leadership experience ideally from a complex high volume and high-speed continuous manufacturing environment.

  • Community College or University education, preferably in Engineering or Food Science.

  • Proven principled leadership.
    Excellent communication, performance management and motivational skills.

  • Ability to plan, problem solve and exercise good judgment.

  • Technical knowledge of process, equipment and controls.

  • A track record of success in leading continuous improvement initiatives cross functionally and delivering business results.

  • Knowledge of current continuous improvement methodologies would be an asset.
